Overview

History and Features

Located within the famous Atlantis hotel on the artificial Palm Jumeirah island, Atlantis Aquaventure is the leading water park in Dubai. This massive attraction was unveiled in 2008 and covers 22.5 hectares.

It uses an incredible 18 million liters of fresh water, which is impressive given that Dubai is a desert region. This sumptuous haven is an extravagant treat in the middle of the prosperous metropolis.

The complex underwent substantial construction in 2013, and the World Travel Awards awarded it the “Tourist Oscar” in 2016 for being the top water park in the region of the Middle East.

With the addition of a third phase in 2021 that houses the remarkable 48-meter Trident Tower and two kids-only zones, the complex has expanded to accommodate 105 attractions, making Aquaventure the biggest water park in the world.

This place offers the chance to enjoy extraordinary poolside moments or exhilarating rides on water slides and other attractions.

Additionally, you can partake in various other activities within the expansive complex, such as:

  • Take the breathtaking display of 65,000 fish and other marine life at The Lost Chambers Aquarium.
  • Engage in Dolphin Encounters and get up close with Sea Lions.
  • Participate in various fun water-related activities including diving, snorkeling, kayaking, SUP, windsurfing, flyboarding, jet board-foil, jetovator, and seabob.
  • Take excursions on yachts, sunseekers, or electric boats.
  • Chill on a 1 km stretch of sandy beach.

Awards and Accolades

It was recognized as the water park with the largest number of slides in 2022 and broke Guinness World Records™.

In the 2020 Traveler’s Choice Awards on Tripadvisor, it was named the Third Best Waterpark Worldwide and the Best Waterpark in the Middle East.

In addition, it received recognition at the World Travel Awards 2022 as the World’s Leading Water Park.

The International Association of Zoos and Aquariums has given Aquaventure Water Park the “Gold Standard” status in recognition of its dedication to upholding the highest standards of animal care.

Best Rides

Aquaventure is well known for its smooth water activities, which let guests quickly go from one exciting activity to the next and turn their trip into an adrenaline journey.

The vast Lazy River is more than 1.5 km long and winds through the water park, with outdoor and underground areas.

Although the river flows gently most of the time, there are certain spots where the streams are very tumultuous. Guests may float down the Lazy River on inflatable single or double circles at their leisure.

There are three main towers hosting slides of different heights and lengths:

  • Neptune Tower: Adjacent to the tower, a captivating pool featuring sharks and enormous stingrays provides entertainment closely tied to this aquatic environment.
  • Poseidon Tower: Renowned for its 30m height, it has four exhilarating rides: Poseidon’s Revenge, Zoomerango, Slitherine, and Aquaconda.
  • Trident Tower: Setting new benchmarks in the region, the water park in Dubai has achieved a milestone with the introduction of the 48-meter-tall Trident Tower, boasting 12 distinctive new slides.

Polular Rides

Aquaconda

This attraction has the longest ride through an imitation snake structure. It has several complex turns and ends with a large transparent tunnel. Up to 35 km/h, inflatable rafts quickly maneuver through winding tunnels with severe curves. The tunnels are 25 meters tall and have a length of 210 meters.

  • Height Restrictions: 1.07 m or above
  • Zone: Poseidon Tower

Zoomerango

This six-person attraction gives riders the chance to interact with gravity as they fall from a height of 14 meters in a single raft. Though the 156-meter downhill seems tiny, riders will experience steep ascents, fast descents, and weightless moments in this brief distance.

  • Height Restrictions: 1.07 m or above
  • Zone: Poseidon Tower

Slitherine

The Slitherine water slide stands out as a one-of-a-kind attraction, being the world’s first double descent slide that intersects with the Aquaconda slide at specific points. At 31 meters high and 182 meters long, the ride ends with unique information displays showing everyone’s speed, enabling competitive experiences beyond simply negotiating the severe turns on the slide.

  • Height Restrictions: 1.2 m or above
  • Zone: Poseidon Tower

Shark Attack

This serves as the entry point to the Neptune Tower, positioned at a towering height of 30 meters, extending deep within the structure before traversing along the base of the reservoir. As guests descend the transparent slide tube, they may get up close and personal with marine predators at Aquaventure. Guests can ride the attraction alone or in couples.

  • Height Restrictions: 1.2 m or above
  • Zone: Neptune Tower

Extreme Rides

The Leap of Faith

This slide is considered the most extreme in the Neptune Tower: a descent at a crazy speed, from which your cheeks will shake, through a transparent, almost vertical pipe at the height of a 9-story building, which passes through a pool with numerous predators. You can only go down here alone and without a raft.

  • Height Restrictions: 1.2 m or above
  • Zone: Neptune Tower

Poseidon’s Revenge

At the top of the tower, visitors seeking a thrilling time can find translucent capsules that go down a vertical funnel. Entering the capsule, participants cross their arms over their chests (under strict orders not to change position throughout the descent), and as the door seals shut, the floor falls away, sending them hurtling at 60 km/h down a black abyss. The thrilling ride has “dead loops” and culminates in the bubbly pool at the foot of the tower.

  • Height Restrictions: 1.2 m or above
  • Zone: Poseidon Tower

Blackout

It’s not possible to get through this ride without screaming. Your heart will race as you experience the tremendous feeling of free fall that the vertical slide offers.

  • Height Restrictions: 1.2 m or above
  • Zone: Trident Tower

Odyssey of Terror

This slide’s vivid red color is frequently connected to danger, and it makes sense – looking up at this massive structure makes you feel nervous.  As the tallest water slide globally, it offers an exhilarating experience for friends descending on an inflatable raft. Prepare for thrilling ascents, descents, sudden accelerations, and unexpected rapids!

  • Height Restrictions: 1.2 m or above
  • Zone: Trident Tower

Plunge

Take this ride for a quick and easy race to the River Rapids, where you can ride alone or share an inflatable donut with a friend. At first, it could look like a typical descending. Still, after the initial ascents, you’ll notice unexpected water splashes and unexpected curves, which will change your viewpoint on the ride.

  • Height Restrictions: 1.2 m or above
  • Zone: Neptune Tower

Surge

There’s always a feeling of anxiety when there’s anything unknown, and this slide is no different. Known for its completely gloomy environs, riders will be thrown into complete darkness and unable to predict when the adventure will end or what turn will come next.

How To Reach

The following arrival options may access the Aquaventure Water Park:

  • By car or taxi: To get to the Atlantis Palm Hotel, take The Palm Jumeirah’s central road toward the Atlantis resort. At the roundabout, take the first exit on the right. Parking is accessible in lot P17, which is close to the water park entrance. You can also park your car at Atlantis The Palm, and a shuttle bus will take you to the water park. Alternatively, you may use apps like RTA, Uber, or Careem or hail a cab on the road.
  • By monorail: Taking the monorail is a cheap way to get to the Aquaventure water park; the station is close to The Palm Jumeirah. Trains run every fifteen minutes, and when you get to the last stop, Atlantis, you’ll find the water park entrance on the left side of the monorail terminal.
  • By metro: Seek for trains that will take you to the DMCC Metro Station or Sobha Realty Metro Station. It will then be necessary to take a taxi to the aquapark.

Tips

  • We recommend you prioritize the rides in the “Popular Rides” section to avoid waiting in line when the park opens. These rides usually have the most extensive lines. The lines are noticeably shorter in the first part of the day.
  • Choose a Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Sunday visit to avoid the crowds. These days, more people usually visit in the afternoon and less in the morning. Generally speaking, on Fridays and Saturdays, more people come in.
  • Buy tickets online before your visit to avoid queues at the counter.
  • You can take advantage of the discounted offer if you are a resident.
  • Check the “How To Enter Aquaventure Water Park For Free” section before you go.
  • Rubber slippers are recommended to avoid very painful scorching of the feet, even if complementary unique socks are provided. Not to mention sunscreen, caps or Panama hats, towels (since renting them can get expensive), and an extra set of clothes are also required.
  • Consider getting a lunch deal when exchanging your e-ticket or at the check-out to save money on dining costs at the water park. A voucher that can be used to purchase specific foods from one of the three on-site cafés is included in this meal package, which costs between 55 and 65 AED per person. It would cost a lot more money to buy these dishes separately.
  • We advise downloading the Aquaband+ App before your visit. The app lets you follow your friends’ approximate location in the water park and allows you to pay for meals or shop purchases without needing a card.

Rules

  • Do not cut in line or hold a spot for others.
  • Using Go Pro, selfie sticks, and action cameras while on slides is prohibited.
  • Children under 1.2 m tall must be supervised by a responsible adult.
  • Don’t wear jewelry or eyeglasses when using the slides or rides.
  • Consider others’ well-being in addition to your own health and any current medical conditions. Steer clear of any rides that might endanger your health.
  • Outside food and drinks, particularly alcohol, are not permitted.
  • Avoid wearing anything unsuitable, such as sarees, cotton tops or bottoms, jeans, long pants, undergarments, street clothes, sheer or see-through things, or abayas.
